Trångsund Houses

Perched on the edge of a steep rocky outcrop on the outskirts of Stockholm, these two semi-detached houses sit within a landscape of striking contrasts, exposed bedrock, dense greenery, and sweeping views. The site's dramatic topography shaped every stage of the design process. Resolving access called for a sensitive integration of driveways and entrances into the natural terrain, as well as close dialogue with local authorities. The result is a pair of homes firmly rooted in their setting, embracing the rock face rather than competing with it.
